The following poem was written about my Great Grandma and Grandpa Anderson

from the perspective of my cousin James L. Phillips.

AUNT BELLE AND UNCLE WILEY

Now I remember when I was just a little lad

How I'd go to Tennessee with dear ole' dad

I can remember how happy my daddy would be

When we rolled thru Kentucky and go to Smokey Junction Tennessee

We'd get there at two in the morning and knock on Wiley and Belle's door

Won't be long till you would hear Aunt Belle walking across the floor

She would yell out, "Lord, Herbert honey, is that you?"

Daddy would say yes, Belle honey, and I got Jimmy with me too

Aunt Belle would let us in, hug us and tell us to get to bed

We'll talk a whole lot tomorrow morning after we all been fed

The day after we ate, Daddy and Wiley would get on their way

They would go here and there and everywhere

To see who all they could see that day

I'd go down the hill over the rocks

and dive in the river and swim real hard

All the kids down there was my cousins

And we would swim and swim till we all got tired

Now we would all gather back in and it was one more sight

What all Aunt Belle would fix for supper that night

After supper we would all get ready and off to church we would go

Now there was a lot of people at church I didn't even know

Seems like when we all go to singing Amazing Grace

God's love came down and blessed everyone in the place

Next day when we left out Belle would hug us and have a tear in her eye

Then she'd tell us if we never see you again

Honey, we'll get together in the sweet by and by.
