The trip to Zermatt was the only time we took a train. They do
not allow gas vehicles in the village, so you park your car several
miles down the mountains and a train carries you to the village
of Zermatt. I believe it was about $15 for the train ticket. The
sun was beautiful that day and we spent several hours sitting
and enjoying the heat of it. There are electric vehicles driving
all around in Zermatt. Prices are high. It is a bit touristy,
but well worth the trek.
